9.1 – Remove the components out of Throttle Pot Mounting Kit and the Throttle Potentiometer itself and lay out on a bench to prepare for assembly.
9.2 – Begin mounting the Throttle Potentiometer to the bracket.
9.2.1 -Using the (4) M5 Bolts hardware provided in the kit you can attach the Potentiometer to the bracket. Best to place the head of bolt on exterior side of mount so it will be easier to access with the allen wrench when going to tighten.
9.2.2 – Use your 4mm Allen and 8mm box wrench to secure the Throttle Potentiometer to the bracket.
9.3 – The Assembly is now ready for mounting to the floor pan of the kart.
9.3.1 – hold your assembly up against the floor pan of the kart and locate your desired position for mounting. Ideally, you’ll want to place the tab underneath the floor pan and then center the throttloe pot between the frame so it’s not touching.
9.3.2 – When you’re happy with the placement, use a sharpie to mark the hole locations.
9.4 – With the drill and 1/4″(6mm) bit, drill the floor pan for the Throttle Pot mounting holes.
9.5 – Using the M6 Hardware provided in the kit, secure the Mount to the kart floor pan. You’ll use the 5mm Allen Wrench and 10mm Box Wrench for this task.
9.6 – Run the wires coming out of the front of Throttle Potentiometer along the frame to Alltrax Controller terminals J4 & J5 (It does not matter which terminal end goes onto the controller terminal). Secure the cable to frame with the zip ties so they will not drag the ground when kart is in use.
9.7 – With the provided hardware in the Throttle Pot Mounting Kit, you’ll attach the Throttle Potentiometer to the accelerator pedal.
9.7.1 – Using the hardware assembly with the L.35 Bushing, you will mount this heim joint assembly to the pedal. The heim joint will need to be on the outside with the Bushing up against the pedal. See video for reference.
9.8 – Attach Tie Rod on other end to the Throttle Potentiometer Arm. You’ll place the heim joint on exterior of arm. You want to achieve the rod connecting to be as in-line as possible between Throttle Potentiometer and Pedal. Some misalignment is okay as they are on heim joints so they won’t get into a bind.
9.9 – Adjust pedal position where you want and secure the m6 nuts against the heim joints to keep in place.
Note: being that the heim joints are both same direction threads, you will need to remove bolt connecting heim joint to throttle pot and spin the rod / heim to achieve the result of extending. Once you have where you want, reconnect and tighten everything to secure.
