Installing CIK Plastic Rear Bumper
Step 1: Prepare the Rear Bumper Assembly Components
- Lay out all of the rear bumper assembly hardware components.
Step 2: Install Rear Bumper Bolt Kits Into Frame
- As the bolt kit comes with bushings and nuts pre-installed, remove the nuts and the first bushing, then slide the bolt with its remaining bushing into the frame.
- 2.1: Slide the vertical mounting bracket onto the bolt over the bushing, then insert the second bushing (removed earlier) into the back side of the vertical bracket.
- 2.2: Install the M10 flange nut. Begin tightening while rotating the bracket upright—once fully tightened, it will be difficult to adjust the bracket position.
- 2.3: Add an M10 acorn nut to the end of the bolt to lock the two nuts together, helping prevent the bumper bolt from coming loose.
Step 3: Install Horizontal Bumper Bracket
- Take one horizontal bracket with one M8 buttonhead bolt and one M8 washer, then push it onto the vertical bracket. Support the bracket and bolt with one hand while adding one M8 washer and an M8 nylock nut to the back side to secure.
- 3.1: Use a 5mm Allen wrench and a 13mm socket wrench to tighten. Pro Tip: Do not tighten the hardware fully—ensure the bracket can move freely up and down against the vertical bracket.
- 3.2: Repeat sub-step 3.1 for the second horizontal bracket.
Step 4: Install Plastic Rear Bumper to Mount Supports
- With the two conical M8 bolts and washers, push each set through the mounting slots on either side of the bumper, aligning them with the horizontal mounting bracket. Install an M8 washer and nylock nut on each to hold in place.
- 4.1: Use a 5mm Allen wrench and a 13mm socket wrench to tighten the bumper to the horizontal bracket. Note: This hardware must be completely tightened.
- 4.2: Repeat sub-step 4.1 on the other side of the bumper.
- Pro Tip: After securing the plastic bumper to the horizontal brackets, ensure proper up-and-down movement with the horizontal brackets sliding on the vertical brackets. If needed, adjust the vertical brackets to be straight up and down for proper floating movement.
