To ensure a seamless and rewarding build process, it’s imperative to arm yourself with the right tools for the job. Just as a skilled craftsman relies on a well-stocked toolbox, our journey towards creating a complete electric go-kart chassis demands a specific set of tools. These tools will serve as your companions from start to finish, facilitating each stage of the project with precision and finesse.
Below is a comprehensive list of essential tools that will accompany you on this thrilling build adventure. Equipping yourself with these tools will not only streamline the process but also elevate the quality of your workmanship, ensuring a robust and reliable final product.

Tool Checklist:

  1. Box Wrench Set: Metric set of box wrenches (preferably ratcheting type) will be essential for this build. Here are the primary wrenches that you will use for the build.
    1. (1) 7mm
    2. (2) 10mm
    3. (2) 13mm
    4. (1) 15mm
    5. (1) 17mm
  2. Socket Set: This collection of sockets and ratchets will enable you to effortlessly manipulate nuts and bolts of varying sizes.
    1. (1) 10mm Deep well socket (For Wheel Nuts specifically.)
    2. (1) 13mm Deep well socket
    3. (1) 22mm Socket (For Large M14 Nut on end of spindle.)
    4. (1) Socket extension
    5. (1) Socket Wrench
  3. Screwdriver Set: A variety of screwdrivers, including Phillips and flathead, will empower you to manipulate screws of different types and sizes.
  4. Pliers:
    1. (1) Set needle nose style pliers
    2. (1) Set standard type pliers
    3. (1) Set vice grip type pliers
    4. (1) Safety Wire Pliers
    5. (1) Snap Ring Pliers (Convertible Type For both Style Snap Rings)
  5. Allen Wrench Sets:
    1. (1) Complete Set Metric Allen wrenches (2mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, 8mm) *T Handle Slider Type are most versatile for gokart build allowing for more proper leverage.
    2. (1) “L Style” Metric Allen Set.
    3. (1) 1/8” Allen Wrench (Specifically for Drive Sprocket Set Screws.)
  6. Wire Cutters: These will enable you to precisely cut and strip wires, facilitating seamless electrical connections.
    1. (1) Standard Cutting Pliers
    2. (1) Flush Cut Pliers
    3. (1) Electrical Wire Cutting Pliers / Crimper Tool.
  7. Adjustable Wrench:
    1. (1) 6” Adjustable Wrench
    2. (1) 12” Adjustable Wrench (For Bending Seat Tabs specifically.)
  8. Hammer:
    1. (1) 2lb Dead Blow Mallet (Often needed when servicing kart to remove axle / Bending left side seat support over to install seat.)
    2. (1) 16oz Ball Peen Hammer
  9. Tape Measure:
    1. (1) 16ft/5m – Standard/Metric Tape Measure
  10. Power Tools:
    1. (1) 12V Impact Gun (A 20V Impact Gun is NOT recommended as it is too powerful for installing wheel nuts and can often damage the threads.)
    2. (1) Drill
    3. (1) Heat Gun
  11. Drill Bits:
    1. (2) 1/4” OR 6mm Drill Bit
    2. (1) 5/16” OR 8mm Drill Bit
  12. Specialty Tools:
    1. (1) Sniper V2 Alignment System (Setting Toe / Camber)
    2. (1) Sniper Chain Aligner
    3. (1) Brake Bleeder Tool
    4. (1) Adjustable Seat Mounting Tool
  13. Miscellaneous Consumables:
    1. 180-Grit Emory Cloth Roll
    2. Black Sharpie Marker
