Anna LeClair Inks Deal With Team Empower

Anna LeClair is now an official member of Team Empower, an Indianapolis based karting team focused on showcasing and developing young female talent in karting. Team Empower’s goal will be to provide a platform and resources to empower young female racers, and help equip them with the skill sets required, both on and off the track, that will allow them to pursue their motorsports dreams.

Anna, who previously won third place in her championship series at Whiteland this past year will be moving up in the ranks this season to compete in the Yamaha Senior category at both national and local races. Anna LeClair is a fifteen year old senior who also loves to learn about space and keep up with Space X and NASA, but her biggest passion is motorsports. Anna began her racing career at age fourteen, where she began driving at Whiteland Raceway Park, which she considers her home track.

“I am super excited about joining Team Empower! I Can’t wait to have a great second season of racing while being coached by both Pippa Mann and Abby McLaughlin. Pippa and Abby are both very cool people and I am so glad to have the opportunity to work with both of them to better my driving skills and also learn about the business side of racing.”
“We feel that Anna is a perfect fit for our program, she is always willing to learn more and has a huge drive to excel. Both Pippa and I are excited to have the opportunity to work with Anna this season,” said Abby McLaughlin. “We plan on running Anna in the competitive Yamaha Senior classes, which is a bit of a change from the Junior classes she has been running. Anna will compete in her first Yamaha Senior race this weekend at New Castle for Route 66. We know it will be a challenge that she is ready for.”

Team Empower will utilize the latest World Championship Top Kart chassis in each of the senior, junior and cadet classes with support from Top Kart and Top Kart USA. Pippa is expected to attend as many of the races as possible with her 2017 schedule, and is also expected to be found back behind the wheel of a Top Kart herself as 2017 progresses.
